I custom-made one article for free as a work sample for startrankingnow.com. To protect my copyright, I published my article on Squidoo mere seconds before I submitted it to the company on a word document. I printed clearly in bold on my submitted one-page word doc:

Without informing me or asking for my permission, Start Ranking Now posted my article at Ezine and GoArticles:

Start Ranking Now has not responded to my messages requesting them to delete their infringing article posts for more than 48 hours now. I sent an email to three of their accounts as well as a message on Yahoo Messenger.
My advice to Start Ranking Now applicants: If you're submitting free samples, publish your work first and just provide the links to the company.

Excellent! Startrankingnow.com's infringing article posts have been removed from Ezine and GoArticles. I filed a complaint at GoArticles and they pulled my article in 14 minutes tops!
I still haven't heard from Start Ranking Now. I hope my experience can guide others.
